Remember Paths[111]
Written Walkthrough #032

  • brief description: A 2D concept level. Rectangular, with Bounce Pads at regular intervalls (the rectangle can thus be described as 4 by 5 bounce pads). Between each Bounce Pad is the space of 3 Cubes, filled more or less with nearsighted invisible Cubes. You start out relatively in the middle.
  • hint: Use the pause button, get a piece of paper and a pencil, and take the time to copy the level down. It's easy (if time-consuming!), and will make sure you know the solution and thus minimize the chance of you fucking up.
  • solution: Turn left. Roll forward. Turn left. Jump and jump again. You are now at the "top end" of the game field. Turn right and roll to pick up the key. Backtrack to your starting point, making sure you face the same way you did in the beginning also. Then roll forward, hop over the Bounce Pad. From that square, move forward one, then turn left, roll forward [deviation from here to get the fruit: roll forward, jump], turn left again and jump. Then jump over the Bounce Pad again and roll till you are one before the hourglass. Turn right, jump (no worries, you will land unscathed!). Turn left and follow the path till to the other key. Then backtrack till to the Bounce Pad you had to cross twice. Cross it once, then roll foward till you are in the middle of the 3 Cubes connecting the Bounce Pad near the Exit & 3 coins to the one just before that on your path. Turn left, roll foward twice, turn right, roll foward twice, turn right and jump. Pick up the coins and roll to the exit.

  • Guess Paths[112]
    Written Walkthrough #xxx

  • brief description: This level is very much like the former in design, but it has a few path deviations that will be your doom. Also, this is a level with farsighted invisible Cubes, unlike the former, so you need to guess your path, and the pause button won't help you at all.
  • hint: Well, eh, guess the path, and have a good memory about where you died... also keep in mind that no object can float in midair, it must be on a Cube, so if it seems to be, there will be a farsighted invisible Cube below it!
  • solution: ...

  • Forced Complexity[116]
    Written Walkthrough #033

  • brief description: So you start out on this long row of Cubes, and there's another long row of Cubes with a ton of things on it very near you. And you roll around a little, till you realise, well, oops, it seems that you cannot actually get to the other one via jumping! You either jump over it if you try one angle, or miss it at the other. Slowly, you despair, then you spot the sunglasses... leap to them, pick them up, thinking now all will be solved - and you turn in expectation, and go pale, because before you is a monstrous structure of Cubes that seem impossible to grasp in the short time you have to see all of it... and the feeling in your gut is much like that of a beaten puppy who no longer understand his master, the feeling of loneliness, the feeling of having been abandonned by all good will. (Though, in all seriousness, I did want to kill the game designers for this level when I first saw it. But I couldn't hurt Johannes now. He's too cool.)
  • hint: Again, make use of the pause button and sketch your way out of the mess. It'll be hard to draw since it's three dimensional, but I suggest useing numbers to denote the location on the up/down axis of the Cubes and writing "4U" for "four Cubes up connected to this Cube" and "3D" for "three Cubes down connected to this Cube", and donate overlapping by, for example, "1/4" for "there is a Cube both at the 1st and 4th level here".
  • solution: Roll forward and Jump over the Bounce Pad. Roll to the end and onto the end, then turn left, roll forward, turn 180° and jump. You are now on the complex structure. Now, roll forward, watch how the world tilts to match your angle as you do - backtrack one once a directional movement repeats. From that square, jump into the direction you were headed. You should land on a single island of two Cubes now. Roll forward, forward again, then jump. Now turn left and follow the path till you are on the other visible Cuberow!
